Palestinians in northern Gaza return to rubble, struggle as bodies remain buried under destruction
Israeli forces conducted indiscriminate strikes during its war on Gaza, leaving much of the Strip destroyed. A home in Beit Lahiya, which housed more than 200 people, was just one of many residential buildings destroyed. The six-story building was completely levelled, killing 93 people who remain buried under the rubble. The destruction extends beyond the house, leaving the entire area devastated. Survivors struggled to recover 123 bodies, with burials lasting from morning to evening. The attack wiped out an entire family seeking refuge from ongoing bombings. Roads remain blocked by rubble, making access difficult. The site stands as a grim reminder of the scale of destruction in northern Gaza.
