Thousands of Palestinians pray at Al-Aqsa Mosque after Israel’s 40-day ban
Israel has reopened Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and the Church of Holy Sepulchre in occupied East Jerusalem after a six-week closure. Around 3,000 people prayed at the holy site on Thursday. But shortly after it opened, a group of far-right Israelis stormed the compound. Palestinians had been barred from entering them since the US and Israel launched their war on Iran at the end of February. Al Jazeera’s Nida Ibrahim reports from Ramallah, occupied West Bank.
