Sudan medicine supply: Prices rise as stocks in pharmacies run low
Medicine prices have sharply increased across Sudan in recent weeks, with several pharmacies reporting shortages of essential drugs. The situation has left many patients unable to access basic treatment as supply chains continue to weaken.
The crisis is being linked to ongoing conflict and wider disruptions in global trade routes, including a maritime blockade thousands of kilometres away. The war on Iran has added pressure on production and shipping costs, contributing to shortages felt in Sudan.
Al Jazeera’s Hiba Morgan reports from Khartoum.
