Ukraine protests after Zelenskyy dismisses Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov
Protests broke out in Kyiv after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, alongside the prime minister, in a sweeping government reshuffle. Fedorov, who held the post for just six months, had introduced reforms credited with recent battlefield gains, but grew increasingly at odds with military chief General Oleksandr Syrskyi. Parliament has approved most new cabinet appointments, though an acting defence minister must still be confirmed.
Al Jazeera’s Audrey MacAlpine reports from Kyiv.
